What To Expect

It's great to get everyone looking and smiling at the camera, but I believe that the ultimate purpose of photography is to capture our free spirits, and the love and joy we have when we're together as a family. I like to take a few "posed" pictures and then spend the rest of the time photographing families interacting with each other, nature, or doing whatever comes naturally. Let the kids run around and climb a tree, the teenager sit on a bench and read her fantasy novel, and dad make silly faces at the baby. We want to remember each other like that. Those are the moments I capture and make the most precious memories.

I shoot all my pictures on location. There are a lot of great possibilities. We can always head to the mountains, go to a local park, or visit a fun location  (Wheeler Farm, Thanksgiving Point, Gardner Village, etc). We can do a session in your home or backyard  where you're most comfortable and your children are in their natural element. We can also go downtown to have a popular urban look. I use all natural lighting because that creates the most beautiful portraits.

The more relaxed you are during the photoshoot, the more success we'll have.  So I usually do not make a big fuss about what to wear and how to smile. Nevertheless, if you'd like some tips on clothing, make-up, etc (especially if those tips will help you feel more relaxed) I will be happy to send an e-mail before the shoot, should you request it.
